VIRGINIA ONCE AGAIN ON PBS TELEVISION
| For the sixth year in a row, Virginia has been invited to paint in front of the cameras for PBS Television. With performing partner Josh Harvey she has been creating a series of flower and bird paintings to raise money for WVPT, Virginias Public Television Station. | ![]() |

With Josh improvising on keyboard, Virginia paints to his music and creates an original painting in about 12 minutes. |
| The painting is then auctioned off "live" in about three minutes. Over the years, these performances have raised several thousand dollars to benefit the television station. | |

This years creation, Hummingbird & Morning Glory, to be auctioned off April 8/9 |
| Previously, the painting performance has been broadcast live; this year, because Virginia will be in China, it has been taped in advance. This years PBS performance will be broadcast during their Spring art auction, probably on Sunday, April 9. The station is WVPT out of Harrisonburg (Virginias Public Television is their slogan). They have just been picked up by Dish and Direct and will be viewable in south-west PA, MD as far north as Baltimore and as far east as Annapolis, and the whole swath of VA in between, so they are doubling their viewing audience. Their phone number is 540/434-5391. If you call them closer to the date they should be able to tell you what the channel number is for wherever you will be on April 8/9, and what time approximately they will be airing the segment. It is usually on in the primetime slot on the weekend, around 8 PM on Sat or Sun. |
