Love this. Learning plum blossom in my class right now, and we are learning it in great detail - this is so fun to watch, how you do each flower so quickly, and voilĂ ! it is perfect in it "suggestion" of the flower. Fascinating to watch your hand and brush move seamlessly across the page, back and forth! Dancing!

Thanks, Kate. I really liked your latest plum painting on Facebook. I have found that the more casual I am with painting the blossoms, the more spontaneous and alive they look. I think we need to learn the pattern first, but then let the brush dance with the idea of the flowers, rather than the literal depiction of them.
